How to Watch Sewing Bees / Comment Regarder Cousu Main

I don't know about you but, I would have sold my mother and a couple of her sisters to watch The Great British Sewing Bee seasons 1, 2 and Christmas Special live when they were airing and it took me a while to find a solution that works for me, one that is seamless, add free, malware, spyware and bug free.

Then, I found the TunnelBear. 

What I liked best was their pricing options with which you can tailor your bandwidth's need.

Last Spring, for season 2, I started with the Free Little Bear to sample and then bought a Big Bear on my tablet through the app store to watch the rest of the show.

Je ne sais pas vous, mais moi, j'aurais bien vendu ma mère et une ou deux de ses soeurs pour pouvoir regarder The great British Sewing Bee saison 1 et 2 et le Spécial de Noël en direct le jour même et j'ai mis un bon bout de temps avant de trouver la solution idéale pour moi, une solution sans problème, sans pub, sans logiciel malveillant, espion ou pourriel.

Puis j'ai trouvé TunnelBear.

J'ai adoré les options diverses que vous pouvez adapter à vos besoins de bande passante.

Le printemps dernier pour la saison 2, j'ai commencé avec un "Little Bear" gratuit pour essayer et j'ai acheté un "Big Bear" sur ma tablette pour ne rater aucun épisode.

The Last Minute Sewing Kit / Nécessaire de Couture de Dernière Minute

I am so crazy, I went on vacation with my new sewing machine.

I am not going to lie to you, the machine is not mine, it's a loaner. After taping the French Sewing Bee, Singer France official sponsor, offered to give us the machine we sewed on, and I said in true Monty Python snooty Graal tone, "we've already got one!" and added for good measure "wouldn't it be much more fun for you and me if you loaned me a top of the line machine with all the bells and whistle for a year?" 

And so they did and more than that, they gave me the fancy title of Singer Ambassador! Blush blush!

The baby they sent is a Futura 4060 (in Can/US, it's the equivalent of the Quantum Stylist 9960). It purs and embroiders pretty motifs and it's got do-thingys and do-dads that I still have to test but I love, love the 13 buttonholes, especially the bound buttonhole feature, and it does have a bell on start up and a whistle to remind you to to lower your presser foot. 

I will play with it and talk about it some more later on.

Je suis tellement atteinte, que j'ai pris mes vacances avec ma nouvelle machine à coudre.

Je ne vous mentirai pas, la machine n'est pas à moi, c'est un prêt. Après l'enregistrement de Cousu Main, Singer, sponsor officiel de l'émission, nous a gentiment offert la machine avec laquelle on a cousu et super snob, j'ai répondu sur le même ton que le français dans Sacré Graal des Monty Python, "j'en ai déjà une!" et d'ajouter "ça serait beaucoup plus drôle pour vous et moi si vous me prêtiez votre plus belle machine, celle toute équipée qui sonne et qui bipe, pour un an".

Ils ont dit oui et en plus, ils m'ont nommé Ambassadrice Singer! Merci, merci!

Le nouveau bébé est une Futura 4060 (l'équivalent d'une Quantum Stylist 9960 en Amérique). Elle ronronne et brode de jolis motifs et elle a plein d'accessoires qu'il faut que je teste et j'adore les 13 boutonnières, particulièrement la fonction boutonnière passepoilée, et elle sonne à l'allumage et elle bipe pour vous rappeler de baisser votre pied-presseur.

Je vais jouer encore un peu avec et vous en parlerai plus longuement bientôt. 

The decision to pack it was made at the last minute and I had very little time to decide what to take with me. For the record, I present you with my desert island sewing kit which could double as a good starter sewing kit I think.

La décision de la prendre à été faite à la dernière minute et j'ai eu très peu de temps pour décider de ce que je devais prendre avec moi. Pour mémoire, voici donc mon petit kit de couture style ile déserte qui pourrait aussi s'appeler les essentiels pour débutantes je pense.

Cousu Main / The French Sewing Bee

J'ai fait pas mal de trucs extraordinaires dans ma vie et le dernier truc extraordinaire en date, c'est que j'ai dit oui quand on m'a demandé de participer à l'émission Cousu Main (après casting et une épreuve de couture), l'équivalent français de The Great English Sewing Bee.

Ça commence le 30 août à 18h sur M6.

I've done some very extraordinary things in my life and the latest very extraordinary thing I have done was to answer yes when I was asked to participate (after a casting call and sewing exam) in The French Sewing Bee. 

It's called Cousu Main and it's going to air on M6 here starting on August 30th at 18h. 

Voici les merveilleux concurrents qui ont participé avec moi à cette grande aventure et je ne vous ment pas, ce sont toutes de très très belles personnes et je suis sincère : (en bas) Adelino, Laurence, Marc, Romanne, Jésus, Isabelle, Séverine (en haut) Caroline, Camille et moi.

Voici une petite idée de ce qui va s'y passer, je m'en vais de ce pas trouver un moyen pour que mes lecteurs d'outre-mer puisse voir l'émission. Je reviens bientôt.
