[Uniqlo Copy] I used to order a lot of novelty fabrics from the now defunct fabric dot com. I’m going to use this one, from the now defunct Alexander Henry to make a wearable toile of the dress I copied the other day. [WIP] We interrupt the current programming. I bought a dress. It’s a Uniqlo collab. I really like the shape and the back, but it’s all polyester and it feels like I’m wearing a shower curtain (shout out to @fehrtrade who went viral with that type of stunt), so before I send it back, I put my @thriftystitcher hat on and copied it. The front was super straight forward but the back gave me quite a headache before I cracked the code and figured out there were hidden darts under the gathers. Now looking for suitable fabric in my stash. 🧵 [Encours] Nous interrompons la programmation habituelle. J’ai acheté une robe! C’est une collab Uniqlo J’adore sa coupe et ce dos, mais elle en polyester et j’ai l’impression de porter un rideau de douche. Avant de la renvoyer, je l’ai copié. Le devant était simple, mais le dos m’a bien pris la tête avant que je vois les pinces cachées sous les fronces. Maintenant, je cherche le tissu idéal dans mon stock.

I saw @anothersewingscientist make an Élodie wrap dress the other day so I took mine out. It was a contractual obligation and only got 2 wears. I’m not a fan of the fabric. I love the print but the viscose is flimsy and in this weather, sticky. I may have a nice Liberty print in stock to make another one, I think it’s worth it. 🧵 J’ai vu Vicki coudre une Élodie l’autre jour et j’ai sorti la mienne. C’était une obligation contractuelle, je ne l’ai portée que deux fois. Je ne suis pas fan du tissu : j’adore l’imprimé, mais la viscose est trop légère et colle à la peau. [Work] Après le Record du Tour du Monde, on a passé en revue ce que j’ai fabriqué qui a bien fonctionné et ce qui n’a pas du tout fonctionné. Il m’a été signalé, à peine quelques heures après l’arrivée que mes protections d’émerillon, c’est de la 💩 et qu’il fallait trouver une solution. Briefing, débriefing, suggestions, utilisation, choix des matières, j’ai passé la semaine à faire des prototypes.
